thanks for the input guys. Apparently there is no new 690's left in western Canada so I'll have to wait until the 2014's show up and make my decision then. for now the xrr will have to do.

What makes you say they are so far apart? Power? Ridabality? I like the fact that the ktm has all the electronics figgered out and you can just ride. But I know the xr is tough as nails and a hoot...
