What do you do? Fill it partially, warm the engine, check the oil, and add some more? I've only done that when the capacity was unknown. If it says 3.75 qt, I'm pouring in 3.75 qt.

It's been my experience that the average person makes no attempt to avoid loud noise, unless it's bad enough to cause pain. Loud music, loud tools, loud vehicles,... most folks don't worry about it....

What qualifies as a "major problem"? A bad final drive would piss me off, but it's not the end of the world. People ride what they like. So far, I've liked Hondas, Buells, and BMWs.

Blog? How often do you anticipate crashing? The plastic System Cases on my old GS outlived the bike. I sold them after my totaled GS went to the salvage yard. They just popped off in the accident.

I use bike oil when the engine and transmission share the same oil. My BMW gets ordinary Castrol.
