try a decent battery or failing that a pair of jump leads from a car battery. seems very odd that it will spark on the kick but not the elctric start, can only be that it is not spinning it fast...

Spark/no spark, do all the cheap stuff first, check all connections, new plug , disconnect the kill switch, new plug cap, plug lead , coil, cdi and then stator !!

Check continuity of all the wires...

They are two totally seperate stators sat side by side so the phases should be in sync, ie one on top of the other looking towards the crank

Calling all auto electricians

6v XL250 has three single phase ac coils , one for headlights , one for battery charge and tail lights ( regulated and rectified ) and one for ignition.
My question if I connect the two lighting...

Patracy what brand and model is that front tyre of yours , I am doing the same as you but with an XL250 and am struggling to find 23" front tyres in the UK cheers
