Question Idle Problem

The bike sat in a warm garage for a few months and now it won't idle. It ran fine before but did take a few minutes to warm up.

If I have the choke out slightly it seems to work fine but it idles...

I recommend you use silicone lube over WD-40. WD will leach out the grease in your o-ring chain (there will probably be a few opinions on this). Silicone is really all you need...

How about another metric, Ease of Maintenance on a scale from 1 to 5? With "1" being the easiest. This does get a bit subjective, but we can look at frequencies of maintenance, such as oil changes...

I ride this bike around town and in the woods. My sprocket ratio is 14/50. Works great for under 55mph and when you need more torque in the low gears.

For one thing, I know the airbox on the KLX300 is different from the KLX250S. Another reason may also be the clearance under the fuel tank and/or the intake manifolds on the engine are different.

Wow, very serious. Sorry to hear this. Once you have the clutch out, I recommend you flush the engine with kerosene (messy I know) to tease out any other metal bits.
