Today I got a chance to work on the bike. Changed and adjusted the floats, changed the needles, re-balanced the carbs, and played with the idle mixture screw again. I think the floats were too low....

I hadn't read this post before my last reply. Now I really suspect the floats. And no, I don't run premium but all the pinging has been at low rpm and big throttle.

As I recall the ignition is one of the better ones...
