I bought a brand new 86 KX250 and rode/raced it for about two years. I put in the tecate shaft to make it wide-ratio (it was quick and easy).
The only problems I had with the bike were the rims...

My WRRRRR weighs 315 with 2 gals fuel. Super heavy duty tubes and the ungodly heavy D606's add about 4-5 lbs I would guess. I also use a very heavy Corbin seat - probably another 4-5 lbs over stock....

Back in 03 I bought a YZ250F that blew a lot of minds with what it could do hill climbing. It was pretty quick and light, and yamaha engines did not grenade like the other Jap bikes....
