I've owned both the suspension difference alone...

I've owned both the suspension difference alone makes the WR the easy winner IMO. the WR is also way more street worthy than the XR but is just as good off road as the XR (motor wise).

looks to me like somebody did some replacing of the clutch plates and didn't use loctite on the bolts, it backed out with use and milled a lovely hole in his clutch cover
