950 Distributor tube

The mechanic in the dealers said my real cylinder is running noisier than what it should be. I have no idea whether this is down to the CCT's or not.

If you see a Titanium exhaust with one distinct spot of discolouration (not around the joints but in the centre of the can), does this mean the packing or possibly the core of the are damaged ?
