Well dang, hadn't thought of it that way. I guess the flip side is - when the fan is not running, the air flow through might be better. The holey shroud theory is probably right up there with those...

Heat seems to be the most common denominator. While ambient heat could factor in, the engine is a lot hotter than the air and the fuel tank is right on top of that heat source. I think the small,...

I blame the wheel swappers. A set of wheels, give or take some brake components, and you can be X or R. If Yamaha was smart, they'd simply offer a conversion kit, one each actually. They already have...

Why did you raise the plate?
And BTW, that just gave me an idea of where to mount a mini compressor for tire air-ups - under a raised up rack. Thanks for that.
I have the Yamaha rack and Rotopax...

Is it just the angle of this photo, or is that rear tire much bigger than stock?
Stock tire sizes:
Front - 80/100-21
Rear - 120/80-18
I believe 120/90-18 is the preferred size for a rear D606,...

I think it's more than harmonic vibration (engine vibration transmitted through the frame to the plate). There is also reflected noise that bounces back off the plate. For this, a non-smooth surface...
