Have two buddy's with the 05'... one the biggest difference in normal maintenance might be the lack of a proper fill and drain bolt on the final drive of the 05'.

You can still change the final...

As far as I can tell the bike makes the same knocking noise (if it is warm/hot) with the clutch lever pulled our out (in neutral).
