I went back to points, I am a luddite as well but was just curious. A friends ktm keeps blowing up and noticed he didnt have rollers on the valve side either which made me think about the G/S.

My bike never had a vin stamped into the headtube area, I have seen some 81's with it there. Mine is an 83.

So it was never stamped into the frame below and behind the right cylinder on the frame?

I had the frame powdercoated and asked if the VIN would get covered up and of course the answer was no.

I'd rather not stamp the old number back in if it's under there, can anyone give me an idea...
