When I first purchased my 05' GS bike, the fuel gauge seamed spot on. Then on one ride it seamed to be about half a gallon off. It would say I was out, but on fill up I could maybe get 4.5 gallons...

My bike used oil, not anymore
My '05 GS used oil like your talking about. At about 10k it started using less. Now at 90k it uses almost nothing. Plus, my mileage keeps getting better. Stop worrying. You have a good bike.

I've gone through about 10 sets of tires. I liked both of the brands you are referring to. I found the tourances last longer. I do prefer the Anakees handling, but no problems like your referring to.
