engine& gearbox .It looks are a whole heap better.
I think all 4cyl turbo utes take some stoking to get moving...

I would suggest drilling some small holes indexed...

I would suggest drilling some small holes indexed along the stick or cut some grooves indexed along the edge of the stick .
This should trap oil & make it easier to read.........maybe
