Have a 89 r100gs and am enjoying my second malfunctioning directional switch. Replaced it a few years ago with a good used one.

Will plan on taking it apart for inspection and cleaning as it seems...

I think these were mostly on /7's but will they fit the mounts on a /5.
If I recall the problem with putting a /7 tank on a /5 was the gap b/w tank and seat. This tank covers the front of the seat...

Got the bags and went through the soaking seams routing.

89 R100GS.
I apparently waited too long before installing the new starter and want to confirm placement of the 3 wires. I believe the main battery goes to the outboard most portion of the solenoid....

just got off the phone with EME who confirmed that the starter was from 2003 and the older loose magnet model.

will tear into it more and figure out what it needs but suggestion by John was to buy...

My valeo crapped the bed, fortunately across the street where i stored it for the hurricane that gladly never happened.

Anyway, took it out, cleaned it (wasnt gummed up anywhere) and bench tested....
