Good choice.
My '04 1150GS provided me the ability to tour long distance; do track days; and the occasional off road rides. A fun bike, over-all. 65,000 miles on the clock and no problems.

For the record, I am the original owner of a '96 ST1100...148,000miles on the odometer...no problems; I do my own maintenance.
