Cam Bearings

Mine went at about 15000 miles. Motor was very well maintained. Cost me a lot to have them replaced because as they disintegrated they took out the cam.
Beware.

Please define what you mean fellas

The Freeride everyone expected? What does that mean?
Also I don't know what the esteemed Nicola is trying to say.
Would be ideal if a straight up Freeride 250 vs Beta X-trainer comparison would be...

Great Report

So you are a reformed Yooper. I'm just a wanna-be Yooper. But I suppose if I grew up there I'd have relocated south too.
Your fresh perspective on the Great Lakes makes this an awesome ride report....

A real treat Thanks for your effort

I am an amateur L & C fan. But your interpretation of the events is a revelation. De Voto would be proud.

Merlin is right about fuel

I believe I used the 6 gallon Safari tank on my KTM LC4 and carried the 2 gallon rotopax. Overkill. Longest stretch was 200 miles plus.

The 700 BMW sounds perfect.

Brian: thanks an how about a book?

I think you could assemble these posts with pics as a book, accompanied by maps and locations. I've always been intimidated by the complexities of the Colorado trails.

Wonderful writing!

My wife and I were in Hopa in November but could not take our rented car into Georgia.
Your pictures are powerful.
Someday I hope to travel Georgia and Armenia. On my 1190R.

You must file a ride report/Trans Lab

I can only imagine the joy of riding with a grandson let alone a son on the Trans Lab!

Please take pics of what you see and portraits of the two of you.

Ramen/Great Trip/Jimmie A

FWIW. The stock mirrors work well on road and DON'T break when you crash at slow speed.
