My best guess is that is Frenchmans Cap in the background and as there is not a road for some distance to the south, I suggest that the picture is taken from the Lyell Hwy, overlooking lake Burbury

I had no success with the rubber chicken bronzes but that was due to my own issue in over tightening. I noticed a vendor on ebay in UK sells the cutaway socket to help reduce this problem.

Yaramalong to Walkers ridge; no problem. Take it slow though, there is still a bit of traffic including horses, mountain bikers and hikers.
Walkers ridge is fine too but add exuberant dirtbikers...
