Yep it's the 87 model. The bush looks fine (no corrosion) but it's not as snug a fit as the other bushings in the linkage. I'll look into the needle bearings option - thanks!

I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it once the forks are back together. I was using neoprene boots up until now but prefer the original look of gaiters. I think the KLR is a 2009 model.

Try CMSNL - I got a replacement for my 87 model last year from them. I changed it as it got noisy and the new one stayed quiet for all of a couple of days. Now I've learnt to live with it! :huh
