Heat Spring

+1 on the heat spring. I made one out of sheet metal and a stainless steel hose clamp. Keeps the side plastic off the exhaust.

You are correct. A 130/90- 17 would be 130mm x .9 x 2 PLUS the rim diameter of 17 inches.

Tire size code

The first number is the width. The second number is the side wall height as a function of the width. Example: a 130/90 would have a taller side wall than a 130/80.

Leak at oil filter cap

Next time you change the oil, remove and replace the o ring in the cap. Use a Q Tip to clean the little groove the o ring sits in. Solved my slow leak issue.

Take a look at the Pat Walsh Design plate. Full coverage, well made and 5mm thick. There are less expensive plates, but the PWD is a dandy.
