I've done the front pads twice I believe, the first time was in the parking area of a hare scramble in Tennessee. I usually have a lot of weight or a trailer so I use pads up fast.

I'd make sure everything moves freely, put some new pads on it and drive it for a couple days and see if the rotor cleans up without getting a vibration. I've done this with no problems.

look for a Gas Gas. they were better than KTMs till at least 2008 and had a better price. The motors also haven't changed in 15 years so parts are easy to find.
