I read a forest service alert that says they closed it down July 18. Must have been quite a gullywasher. It is doable. And alot easier when we did the return to Prescott.

My son and I just rode Senator Highway to Crown King and back (to Prescott).
That ride has always been a favorite of mine since the '70's when I was involved in a gold mine outside of Crown King....

I put hardwood floors over concrete using this method.
Seal floor.
Trowel roofing tar onto concrete, place plastic over it, spred another layer of tar on plastic. Lay down 3/4 " cdx. I use 1/4"...

I have an '89 xt 600. I had same problem with it stuck in gear. I found if I shut the bike off, it would pop out of first easily. Not much help at a stop light, good luck.

I want to check the valve gap on my reflex, I have done the remove spark plug and stuck a dowel into the cylinder thing. But don't you have to have the piston in the compression mode? I couldn't tell...

I did pull the carb apart, removed the parts mentioned in the manual,douched it, put air through it. But I am not well versed in carb cleaning so I could admit to not doing it right.

I have an '87 reflex. I really like it. Great for a trail bike. I just bought another last weekend. Needs some work but will use it for a loaner.

I see them on ebay, some in pristine condition. I don't know squat about trials abilities, but I love mine for single track riding. I paid 900 for mine.

I don't live there, but look at a map of the city, find Tanque Verde road on the north east side of town. It turns to dirt (two wheel drive is ok) and climbs the mountain. About five miles up there...
