No advice on the campgrounds, but be aware that the Parks Pass only gives you free admission into the Parks or any other federal lands that have an admission fee. It gives you no discounts on camping.

On my broken leg, there was not much growing of bone until I started weight bearing, and then it was fine. So you should get an X-ray after you've been WB for awhile and see if things have improved....
