I think you are right with the pricing not being attractive to KLR folks. Personally I wouldn't consider unless it was turnkey solution for around $200. Over on KLR650.net they have a thread going...

I love my heated vest for switching between technical riding and the longer jaunts since you can just dial in the comfort. So much better than too many layers for this kind of mixed riding.
