Giant Dirt Bike

If your a careful C rider then its my opinion the 990 is not for you. I like big dirt bikes (KTM 990r, CR500, MXC525, XR600 ect..) but I started riding dirt when I was 5. The 990r is handful in...

The best

I've had one on my 525 MXC since 06' and I suspect I'll never replace it. My 990R has 14K miles on it and the SS doesn't show any wear yet. I watch enduro racing when its available and all the top...

My son once said "Dad I thought you hated Orange". He was right. I hated anything orange until I bought a 2005 MXC and rode it for a year all over Oregon. It transformed my offroad riding experience...

I think this is technically correct in a general sense.. The 950 is taller, handles better and stops faster (without knobbies). You can see over traffic while lane splitting and react to idiots much...

I knew that my post would get this type of reaction here. Your newbie logic is also flawed. A good scooter can go 80MPH but the engine is very friendly to new riders. The 990 demands superior...

Check you crush gaskets first

The FMF pipes I installed needed new crush gaskets and some exhaust sealer. The crush gaskets are one time use but even with new gaskets I had a visible gap to fill with the sealer on the left can....

Been thinking about it.

I commute on my 990R. Its only 14 miles each way but the miles rack up. This is my favorite bike over the past 30 years and would like to keep it for a while without having to rebuild the engine....

On my 2010 990R 0-10mph requires more RPM's that any other bike I've had. I've changed my sprocket to a 45t which helped keep the RPM's up while lane splitting, but its still not ideal. In parking...

Oil Overfill?

I didn't follow the oil checking procedure and overfilled the oil on my 990 by about 3/4 of a quart. I noticed my coolant level going up and down and eventually it went low after it spit some out.
