Yeah that was right after I got the bike. The Yamaha forks are the single best thing for these bikes. I put around 14k miles on it from the time that I bought it to when I went overseas mid 2011....

Yes they use the same braketry. I have Holan Aluminum cases and the mounting frame was for the older f650 singles. It fit fine with no modifications.

Mine is on top of the dust cover. So its bearing, dust cover, spacer, nut, top triple. I used a bicycle headset spacer that i had on hand.

Nope, the yz steering head bearings get pressed in and you use the stock one. You may have to put a spacer on top depending on how long it is though.
