Maybe I didn't explain what I saw on the unit - and how the one I bought works.
It IS "on" & "off" - however, it has an adjustable tension feature while riding.

REGULAR checking of pressures - don't skip distance runs.

Had an 1150GS & bought a used Bill Meyer (Rocky's) - was one of the best GS additions.
Traded up for a '10 1200GS - and went with the same name replacement saddle. It just works (thanks Rocky!).
