I live in a rural (sort of ) area..

So Im often not too worried, I usually park in a space and take the key, Often i leave my Jacket and helmet on the bike. I Usually lock the steering and I have in my coat pocket an 1/8" x 6' cable...

but.. you won't be able to fold the tarp back under you , at 45 deg you will need 4 feet if tarp just to sit under it, that's 8' of wasted tarp.
use tent stakes and two bungees to the lower eyelets...

I don't know if it matters but mine came with a u-bolt that is flattened where it wraps around the bar.
Been there for three years without problems

I was unaware that Gopro did stills, I have a 1st generation that only does vid and on/off on the unit. any Idea what model.

Duffel is great

soft saddles are great too, I run the straps under my seat to keep them grab proof. I would sugest the duffel tho they carry more and work better as basic hotel luggage .
My suguestion tho is.....
