I had alligatoring and blistering on my 2005. The tanks also distorted so that the bottom mounts were 5/16 and 3/8 off. I had to use a jack to put them back on. I drained the fuel and ran air through...

Rear Shock

Is there a discussion of places/people who repair rear shocks on my 2005 Adv? It has gotten a little bouncy after 36000 miles... Probably before, but I have started to notice it.

My right tank bottom mount was about 1/4" off, not too hard to get right, but the left tank was nearly 3/8. Someone on this thread suggested removing the back screw, and that helped.
I have decided...

I have had the problems discussed above with expanding tanks with the same results to replace them. As to KTM replacing tanks, mine are cracking on the outside through the paint, though not leaking...

I think it is the ethanol. My tanks used to go on easily, but have gotten harder and harder. You can also see ripples on the sides that did not used tobe there. I have not tried the idea of leaving...

Has anyone tried a low pressure American fuel pump available at the autoparts store for about $40?

I have looked at a number of the tire threads and I cannot find anyone who has used a Karoo on the back. Anyone out there know anything about those?

The stock screen buffets. The Cee Bailey is worse. Ricardo a little better, but not very good. The problem it that the screen is too far away from your face. Look at any touring/sport touring setup. ...

Speedo error

You would think that, with a digital electronic speedometer, KTM could make both speedo and odo accurate at the same time. You would be wrong. Why bother with the remote switch which sets the odo on...

Cee Bailey

I bought a used Cee Bailey that covers the headlight. No joy. I am 6'3" with a 33 inseam, and a Sargent built seat that is 35", so I sit tall, but comfortable, except the wind noise. I tried heating...

I just put the sea level jets in from the JD jetting kit. I am pretty happy with it. The low end boost is very nice. They include high altitude jets and needle, as well.

As I said in the post, its not the idle, it idles fine. It's that the engine doesn't provide the braking that you expect, because it doesn't slow down when I close the throttle when I am moving.

KTM 450EXC idle

I just got a 450 EXC, and I like it, but, when I let off the throttle, the bike does not go right back to idle. It is like those cars with pollution controls of 25 years ago which kept the idle high...

Panniers

The Gobis are as wide as the 42 litre aluminum ones and hold about what the 35 litres hold. They are also heavier. The water/wine storage is a neat idea, but does it make the liquid taste? I sold...

Bar risers

I see a lot of talk about risers, and I am wondering if anyone has turned the h/b clamp around? That would give about 10mm of movement forward. Then a simple block under the clamp, with longer bolts...

Tires

I went to a track day with the Scorpions. They will outcorner me, not a strong recommendation, but the instructor was impressed with the way the bike kept up with the others in my section.

Windscreen and mirrors

I took off the stock mirrors and put Napoleon bar end mirrors on. Napoleon's mounting bolt fits the insert in my 05 950 bar end. It made a noticable difference in buffeting and wind noise on the...

Fuel Tank Vents

I have only had my KTM for a week. I liked the range on my Triumph Tiger which has another gallon of capacity, but I sure like the way the KTM handles better.
Looking at the parts book, the European...
