Forks on my 06 use that oil level with progressive springs. As I recall 3.25 spacers on springs oil level 185 t0 175 mm from top. Set up works good for a fat man.
Also all fork oils are not rated...

Camping is free with purchase of race ticket. last year was $150 for all 10 days....

Used KLR
x2 Mine has a corbin seat, highway pegs, and 1 tooth up front sprocket. I can spend all day in the saddle, I have run 20 hours in a 24 hour period.

this is like an oil thread
i have ridden my klr 15 k My 240 lb. butt and lots of gear, Shinko 705s @ 38-42 psi. they stick good, turn in well and last 5 k rear 15 k front. tryed 32 psi front and tire started to cup.

Start out on 200-250 cc machine, so you can learn to fall off. Im 5'11 and my KLR 650 is tall and heavy for me. Every one should have a 250 in the shed

I ride a klr 650, 1 tooth up on the front sprocket it will run 80 mph all day (loaded). I have no need for any more power. corbin saddle, highway pegs, tall windscreen, and I have done 3, 800+ mile...

camping
Cheap stuff @ Walmart. 2 man tent, 2 tarps (ground and top for bad rain), sleeping bag and mat, water proof bag to keep it in. Doz. bungees to tie stuff down and bungee nets over the top of that....

A fellow rider told me, a sliding bike always flips. When you lay it down or low side, alway get away from the bike. He was still on it when it fliped, hurt him badly.

Was my first bike, If youtook off the carb cover on engine and put on the choke it picked up 5 HP, felt like it in the driveway.

Dremal tool with small cut off wheel will make short work of that problem. Habor Frieght has em on sale $8.99 with cut off tool.

My alum. framed cot ($50) keeps me up off the ground when the tent leaks. I will never sleep on the ground (pad) again.

Summit racing coilover springs. go by size 2.5 x 10, they are in 25lb increments 425 lb spring has settled some and I like it but, could have gone with 400 lb. imo stock shock (10k) has good...

I keep useing these old threads to set up my KLR, so I will add my 2 cents. i bought a 10 inch by 2.5 spring from summit racing $32, used a cople of koni 2,25 to 2.5 nylon adapters 6 bucks each....
