Final confirmation

Well, I'd say the proof is in the test ride. The R80G/S is finished and has been test ridden. I think the transmission rebuild is a success. The tighter shimming proved to be correct. It shifts up...

Plain cold steel scrap from a muffler shop and some 90 degree elbows off ebay. Press the 6" piece into an oval, weld on some 1/8" flat on the ends. Grind and trim. Fit the inlet and outlet positions....

Here is a shot of the collector. I got an R100GS system off ebay, but only used the headers and muffler. The center collector proved too large so I made a smaller, lighter unit.

I've used sheep skin covers for years. Warm in the winter and cool in summer. You don't have to get fancy. Just buy a piece of sheepskin on ebay, trim to fit and add some elastic.
