I'm with you on the fairing hate. I'm split between a rally fairing and a round headlight/fly screen thing. Option two is soooo much easier, but one is way more "custom".

Pretty sure they are still radial. Bias ply is way harder to make and warranty. Radial doesn't necessarily mean directional.

BMWs are great for a long time. Guzzis can have flaky chrome barrels if they sit, but can also have huge mileage and be rideable.

Bikes wear differently. A 30,000 mi cb350 will need a top end at least. Ditto for an xs650. 15,000 miles on an Ironhead and you're at least halvsies on original engine contents.
