Edit. I did manage with the starter swiveled but it took nearly as long to do as it would have to remove I think.

Not heard of swapping rear shock for anything before...just front end for wr450f.

I thought 5w is standard for the front. Pretty sure it's what I used.

Yep. For me I think the issue was the tab that should have gone into a hole on the OEM handlebar. No problem with it still being there with my aftermarket bar until I changed to a G2.
