I don't think you could get 1" of vertical movement even if all the swingarm bearings, shock bearings, linkage bearings AND wheel bearings were shot. All of which would induce lots of other movement....

You don't need to remove the carb to rejet, just loosen the boot clamps and twist the carb so the bowl is accessible on the left side of the bike. No special tools needed.
