When to strap it down

The first time I used mine, I strapped it down
and then jacked it up. Lucky I didn't bust
something. still haven't worked out the best
way to use the strap.

dead battery story

I bought my DR in '08 but it was an '07. I sold it the other day to a mate and
he couldn't even get the battery to turn over the motor. I had had it on a
tender on and off for the last six months...

Permanent marker - great idea

That's a great idea to use the permanent marker.
Any clues about how many links to have as a spare
bit of chain? btw 525 chain will fit on a 520 sprocket but
not vice versa I;m told.

Pillion pegs not

The DR250 has pillion pegs like my DR650
but not like my DRZ250; so I guess the Ukraine
racks would need rejigging to suit us,

btw LockyV7 doesn't make any stuff for the 250.

Counter shaft bearing issue

I was chatting to a DR650 owner in Broken Hill in Feb this year.
He was saying his bike was nearly brand new. It sure looked it
except for the bright red mud on the tyres, the rest was spotless....

I've just picked up my son's DR-Z250 and he has gone to a Honda CRF 450X.
I paddle around on my own mostly doing State Forest gravel roads.

You can buy a guitar or ukulele strap holder which
screws into the instrument for AUD $2 in a music
shop or possibly a knobby thing from a ship's chandler
that is used to retain a piece of elastic...

Wauchope Suzuki recommended a 45 rear when I had a change

One can tell EXACTLY where the CoG of ANY object by suspending it from a piece of string. The CoG will be SOMEWHERE on the extension of the string; so paint a dotted line on the bike vertically below...
