AFAIK, the only bulb that is directly connected to the stator (more or less) is the headlight, as the headlight is AC. everything else should run off the battery, and should work with ignition on....

Not only will it bend up the sidestand, it will also bend up the frame. Probably more so than the sidestand.
Keep doing it, and the sidestand bracket will eventually break off (usually in the middle...

Think it's electrical....check coil connections, stator output on red/black wire..should be 70V AC or so.

Could also be a partially blocked...

I am running 15/42 on my XR6, and it's good on the highway, but not so good in the scrub. I will stick to the 15 front, as it keeps the chain just kissing the slider. The only downfall is that one...

When my CDI died in my XL6, I managed to borrow one from an XR400 to try. Fired up first kick, and no difference in power when I took it for a ride.
Try it, suck it and see.
