Answered my own question. JDM bike and found the chassis number listed on a Japanese auction site in 2012 for export. Confirmed 2006 and appears legit.

What's the best older Ducati for real road riding?

I think it is about time I put an old Duc back in the shed.

What's the best 'real world' Ducati out there? I'd be riding a mix of twisties and faster sweepers. Mainly weekend fun, 300 miles.

40 mpg? I might get that at 50 mph. On the French motorways heading to the Alps I was getting just above 20 mpg at a steady 95mph.
