Fuel consumption

That 625 of yours is great on fuel or mine is particularly bad.
I did that stretch from Wiluna to Cotton Creek in 2013 and made it into Cotton Creek on fumes after 48L

Bike has down about 18,000kms, but think I will pull the starter motor out and give it a birthday with some new bushes etc before I pull the cam shaft out.

625/640 Starter Motor

Not happy with my starter motor and it's difficulty in turning over my engine from a cold start. On most occasions I need to depress the decompression lever to get it cranking.

Should it be rattling around the counter sproket ??

Just puller the chain off and the sprocket has a lot of movement on the shaft....

But waalx is right, the trick is to get going by sunrise then camp up 12 - 3pm then push on until sunset. Sand is a lot more manageable when it's cool and firm and you attack it...

Off-road it's hard to beat a Michelin Desert , great sidewall strength or if you are running long Kms MitasE09 corners a little better on the black top.

Thanks for the suggestions, now the swing arm is off I filled it with penetrating oil and now plan to weld a socket onto the bolt head and give it a twist with heat.
