I have ridden small bore 4 strokes in the colorado woods, and if it's real tight they are just fine, I ride a KTM 300 exc, and the torque makes this bike wonderful in the tight loose decomposing...

Yes you can ride all year, maybe not offroad, but I ride off road most of the winter months, if you haul the bike down to pueblo, the snow is usually alot less, and there are some descent trails....
