Don't have a DR650 any more, but the TM40 made a huge difference to my DR650. I can't remember if it made a difference to the mileage but you could lug the motor around and snap the throttle open...

Front fenders?

Has anyone tried to mount a DRZ400SM front fender on a 650?
It looks slimmer and much better than the stock DR650 fender.
I don't know if the rear section of the 400SM fender will clear the frame...
