I'm 6'1", 240lbs and I have no problem tooling around on my DR350 or XR250. They both feel fine. I will even put miles down on my old '79 XL100... it's slow but keeps chugging...

Good tip. I just ordered myself a surplus bivy ($40) and I think I'll investigate the mylar blankets too. I spend a lot of time sleeping on picnic tables and that seems like a good combo.
