mine (on a '06 950S extended to S'04 suspension)...

mine (on a '06 950S extended to S'04 suspension) was long enough to be easily routed on a 990 brake line (plastic pipe removed) but in your case,
IMO, you should pay attention on what will happen...

I remember being able to find any diameter easily (not everywhere though) in Canada but the correct length and the head choice was a problem

Usual metric bolts have only one thread per diameter...
