cycle world review

Granted, the guy has to write about something, but I got a kick out of his comments about how fun the bike is in "sport" mode considering all our bikes are permanently in "sport" mode if I read...

Thanks for the intel. I ride a lot in hot weather, so heat could be an issue. I will definitely take it for a serious test ride before deciding.

Ducati has a 19-inch front, which is a deal breaker. I've ridden the Explorer and it just felt like a bigger, heavier version of the Tiger, but less dirt worthy. If I want big, heavy and neutered, I...

I can't get excited about the new/improved XC. I have the original, and aside from suspension, I see no need to "upgrade." I am curious if that WP rear suspension will be available as aftermarket for...

Irony alert

It seems like every MC company is now chasing the ADV market by offering a 1000-1300CC comfort barge that is road biased, which seems to me would open up a market for mid-displacement (pick a number)...

Where's the 21-inch wheel option?

I've always considered KTM the "dirtiest" of the ADV bikes, but that was back in the 950/990 days. Now they have four ADV bikes and only one with a 21-inch wheel. Strikes me as odd considering most...

Sounds like there will be some 2015 1190Rs available, even if I can't get one from my local shop. Road trip!

No 1190Rs?

Talked to a local KTM dealer who said they would not be getting any 1190Rs in for 2015 because KTM is pushing the 1290.

Anyone heard anything similar? Seems strange to me, but that's what they...

Couple thoughts

A 250 is going to suck going long distances on pavement. I think we all can agree on that. A Tiger absolutely loves the twisties, so you will have a blast there.

Obviously the 250 will out dirt...

hi jack alert

I've bought two relatively inexpensive DS helmets: the original AFX and the Joe Rocket. I've worn the JR for about two years and I'm thinking about upgrading to a Shoei or Suomy.

I'm wondering if...

Yeah, it's really annoying when I not only can't try on a helmet, but have to wait to order one. MC Superstores says something about shipping Aug. 31, but not sure if that's a firm date. I would...

Is that ADV bikes are kind of accepted by most quarters. Maybe they're just being polite but I've had sport bike riders, dirt bikers, cruisers and Harley guys say "that's a pretty cool bike."

Cycra handguards work

The fit isn't perfect. It takes some pretty substantial spacers and the clamps don't mate perfectly with the bars, but it's an option.
