I am glad you are doing the northern route, you are in some amazing country, we got a great off road ride in last year at GR and Moab, worth every "event" we had to deal with. Continue safe.

Be safe and towards Coos Bay is an amazing st. park called Humbug State Park. Awsome camping, great view and a beautiful beach. Still one of the best I have ever been too.

Just a quick update, I met CJ at the Cadilac Ranch, west of Amarillo. He took off for Oklahoma City and maybe Jackson MS at about noon.
