I don't think this will work with the 2015

On the KTM web site this part looks different for 2015

say NO to Harley

Don't take a Harley to Mexico, you will regret it.

Mexico is a poor country, the roads that are covered with pavement are ok, most roads and places that you would want to go to are dirt roads. ...

they know the price

Dealers know the price of the 2015 1190s/r. When they placed their order for them with KTM I'm sure they knew how much they were spending. No company would place an order for items without knowing...

depends on where you ride.

Desert open spaces the 500 would be best. Tight woods rocks steeps, the kind of stuff you'll find in The Great North West 350 would be better.

by the looks

The tubes are the same, forks may not be.

What about calling trail tricks and asking them what they did?

more everything

travel and ground clearance.

I would think it would be hard to know what is going on with the forks without seeing what is inside.
You could look at some oem parts finder site to find out...

Looks to be in good shape.
Kinda interesting that it would have the safari on it with such low miles.
Reason?

consider

That is impressive, but the 1190 is looking at 65ish at 3500 - 10,000 rpm

But still the bigger you go the harder it will be to deal with no matter the power/ weight / torque ratios.

oil change

When was the last oil change?
When / if my bike sounds like that or the light flickers i first check the oil and tp it of if needed. If the oil level is fine I would change the oil.

No Date

They are not sure when they will be shipped from KTM. Winter is rolling in and I'm heading to a beach. I set up a Pick-up date for April 20 when I get back to Alaska.
Enjoy yours

50lbs heavier

the 1290 is close to 50lbs more than the 1190. As far as off road goes, the 1290 is a downgrade compared to the 1190r. The standard kills the BMW off road as is.

Dealers Choice

My dealer is bringing 6 1190r's to Alaska in 2015. Ask another dealer.

Doesn't matter what your dealer orders

Your Dealer could order 100 1190r's and KTM might send then 1.

Same as they would disqualify the SMT as an Adventure bike.

The 1050 was to be the most dirt orientated Adventure bike in the line-up. Cast wheels would not be the best choice for a dirt bike.

Why?

I would much rather throw 1500.00 bucks at something other than a wheel upgrade. Doesn't look like its to off road heavy. My bet detuned 1190.
