The bike will smoke at different times... White'ish blue color which makes me believe it is a rich mixture...
my 78 XT500 has the Pumper type carb with Diaphrams.
No air mixture adjustment...

Good Repair Shop for My XT500 Colorado?
I have a 1978 Yamaha XT500 that is having some issues....
Wonder if anyone can lead me to a good shop/ mechanic that can help me dial this bike in....
I am in Denver and heard about a guy...

The TT 500 is under a full restoration right now and should be done here in a couple of weeks....
This bike has set for 30+ years and was in really great shape...

Bought this bike was sitting for many years in a barn--
Cleaned up the Carb- put a new spark plug in her and Bam she fired right up!
Got to love the Wirges Pipe- Crazy power!
