...the cord and nothing happens......BMW will issue a recall on the the chute, set you an appointment three weeks out and then refuse your warranty claim and charge you $$$$ to fix a known issue seen...

2012 KLR650 in Central Illinois, as new, 15 miles
This bike was bought when a GSA was really desired and has been ridden 15 miles in one year as a result. Always on a tender, bone stock. Under fully transferrable extended warranty until 4/14/17....

just got one of these as well....
hooked up to a battery at 11v, seems to be cycling on the ammeter and jumping between 13.6 and 13.0 v, i doubt that's the way it is supposed to work
...
