Gearing

The stock gearing on the 990 adv is 17/42. Most off readers switch to a 16/42 combo. This seems to work well and is stock on the limited edition 2013 baja model.However......swapping the primary over...

Foot pegs

Thanks but I don't want to mess up the bars and have to paint or powder coat them. However......this does make for a sturdy set up.

990 highway foot pegs

Wat is the best option for highway foot pegs. On my 950 I welded a small bracket to the crash bars but on m new Baja I am reluctant to muck up the pretty orange bars so a bolt on would be best.

990 mods

I have the same bike and am well on my way with mods as well. Here is my two cents worth.

Steering damper: fastway made by Pro Moto Billet. Plus it gives you a small rise of just over an inch.

Head shake

I have the same bike as well. It shakes its head severely at highway speed. I have a 19-17 combo set up for street and it is fine with that set up. The stock tires are brutal! However they are a must...

Side stand too long?

I have 2013 990 baja and run the stock wheels off road and a 19/17 combo on the highway. I am contemplating cutting an inch off the side stand because it is too long when running the 19/17 combo. It...

990 baja

Mine was delivered without the sprocket but the dealer got the correct one for me. One of my aux lights has failed already....very disappointing.

Had shake

I have the same bike with the same problem. I also have a 19/17 set of wheels for street. With the street rubber on it does not shake at all. I would suggest that it is a tire problem mostly. I have...

Wheel size

This works and is no big deal to change. It is a little trick to open up the pin connector to remove....but once that is done you can change wheel size just as described.

Makes you wonder why...

990 baja

I have the same bike I just got a few weeks ago. It is way more powerful than the 950!
I installed wings pipes to give it a better sound and run cooler. I also ran an aux panel with a negative bus...

Thanks,

The dealer said it can not be changed. I will try to do what was suggested here and post if it works.
What makes no sense is that this has been locked out. Many riders have different...

2013 Baja wheel size?

I took delivery of a 2013 990 Baja. It is great but I have a second set of wheels 19/17 combo and it seems there is no option to change tire size on this speedo?
Can the dealer do this? Anybody have...

Mefo 150/70/18

I ran this tire for at least 9000 k and it could go further. I ran a Shinko dual sport tire all the way across the country and back and could probably do the trip again on the same tire. Both these...

2013 Adventurer Baja bar riser

Just wondering if anyone knows of a solution for extending the brake line on a new 990 baja. The front brake line goes to a junction block and is too short to allow for a 2" bar riser.
Make you...

shinko tires

My wife and I did a 8000 mile trip last year on two bikes. ( KLR 650 & 950 KTM ) Both bikes ran Shinko's because frankly they were cheap. I had to replace the rear on the 950 at about 5000 miles...

The stock exhaust can be modified easily by cutting and removing the catalitic baffle.....then reweld. This opens the beast up and with proper jetting will run like a top!
