As far as necessary mods... changing out the front sprocket to lower the rpm at highway speeds...

Prolly cheaper (initially) to get an '01 GS then to rip apart a KLR to get another 8 hp out of it.
260lbs/6'3"... he will need 80-120 hp to keep up with his dad!

I like the fact that my motor temperature is constant w/o any swings no matter what season (28 degrees to 120+).
I did a ton of research before my install and the T-Bob has performed flawlessly....

Much better fuel management but... KTM is 'the' machine.
Even a well-equipped KLR will eat a beemer in the woods.
