Sportster

For the 100th anniversary of Harley I decided that I wanted for the first time in my life, to own Harley. I grew up on Japanese bikes and have owned lots and lots of them over the past 48 years. So...

Yes that is exactly what I had in mind--and I think the condition looks just fine too. Also I wouldn't be disappointed to have one of the pre oil injection ones as yours appears to be. I have had...

CT200's

I know that Trail 90's are quite plentiful but seriously doubt that you will find CT200 Trail 90's to be plentiful. I consider myself very fortunate to have found one in our part of the country and I...

My 1980

Bruce, I know what you mean about sentimental value. One gets pretty attached to a bike and then even moreso if the bike was owned previously by a good friend or relative. My friend had put 78,000...

Wow, Lyle--Rizingson--those sure are beautiful examples of the CT200. I am quite thrilled to have just one of them even if it is not quite as nice as either of yours. In New York, it was quite easy...

80's bike

I think that the early 80's Honda CB750F is a great bike. Mine has about 105,000 miles on it at this time. It always amazes me at how nicely it handles for a bike with so many miles on it. Valve...

CX500 and Yamaha Vision

I have had lots of Japanese bikes that I thought were very smooth shifters but none as smooth as my 1981 Honda XL500S. Up or down, with or without the clutch the lever just snicks through the gears....

1982 gl500

Re: Shadow 500

Oh I forgot to add also to my previous post that the 500 Shadow seems to get 60mpg nearly all the time. It helps that in 6th gear the small engine turns only 4400 rpm.
