If that is what you have on hand I would mix the 2 together and make sure to have the correct amount to fill the gearbox.

New mixed gear lube is better than gear lube that is water contaminated

Long ago:

I had a XR350 valve break and damage the head - new head from Honda was out of price range so I took a dremel and smoothed the damaged head from the broken valve. Worked saved $$$...

Yes the CB1000C has the HI-Lo range transmission - 1983 CB1000C is a 1 year only bike but is actually a CB900C punched out so parts do interchange. 1980-1982 CB900 production.

I question this. -

I rode my cb1000 today and doing 40 mph in 5th gear I was at 3000 rpm.
Normally shift this bike at 4000 rpm - maybe you tach is broke or set wrong.



Anyway these airheads like to rev 4500 rpm...

Have you adjusted the spring with the preload adjustment??

But if it bottomed out that easy you may need a stiffer spring contact ohlins for correct spring rate based on your weight and bike model...

Were you trying to get gas in the crank case?? If you pull the dipstick you can add gas directly to the crankcase. Hope this solves your problem....

Yes you need some work - valves look like they are able to move in the seats and looked recessed - plus cylinder lining is starting to tear off will only get worse -

Hey got a CB1000C find the rear disk brake is able to lock the rear tire very easily and just slide. So I think the tire is old it is a Dunlap elite 130/90

Date code first DA1W then stamped...

Warm idle

What is your warm idle RPM set at??

I run at half choke on my bike's for about 1/4 mile then I am able to turn off the choke/enrichener but ambient temp here in AZ is above 60 all the time.:freaky
